ABOUT US
Pittsburgh Classic Movie Club's mission is to preserve and promote classic film (Golden Age of Hollywood - 1910-1969) in the community. To that end, we offer free movie screenings throughout the Pittsburgh area.
We often partner with libraries and local movie theaters to show films. If you have an interest in partnering with us to show a film, please contact Club President, Wendy Whittick here.
The Pittsburgh Classic Movie Club started out with just a few members from the TCM Backlot Message Boards. TCM used to allow backlot chapters for classic film fans in different cities around the U.S. Sadly, TCM would eliminate that program prior to 2020.
In true Pittsburgh fashion, Pittsburgh Classic Movie Club not only continued on but it began to thrive and grow. We have grown from just a couple members to close to 140 members and counting!
We believe this Club is something special and will continue to grow and make a difference in the Pittsburgh area. We seek to bring back awareness of the great classic movies – the silent era movies, the screwball comedies, the unforgettable musicals, the brilliant dramas, epics and Westerns that make up this genre. Most of all, the Club is a home to all who love these movies and our members are our family – a family brought together by the shared interest and love of these movies, and their wonderful stars. We seek to keep them alive and to reintroduce them to the world. They cannot – will not – be forgotten!
If you have a passion for classic movies or even just an interest in knowing more about them, we are always happy to welcome new members. There is a form on the Contact page that can be filled out and submitted or you can use the link to visit our Facebook group. Come join us!
